Tyrtle Beach

Jumpers and Annual Totals

Each year, a “Celebrity” jumper is selected by the planning committee, spending a significant amount of time during the month appearing on the radio, making guest appearances, and anything else they can to support the campaign. The month culminates in “the jump”, where they creatively enter the chilly waters of Lake Salubria. The temperatures have been in the 30’s, in the 60’s, and everywhere in between. The jumpers agree to do so at least two months in advance, never knowing what lies ahead!

While we believe that each jumper secretly (or not so secretly) hopes to “break the record” for funds raised in a given year, Tyrtle Beach does not set an amount as an official goal. Each year, we continue to believe what was the case when Tyrtle Beach began in 1992… the community will give what it can.

We are indebted to the following community heroes for “jumping in for the kids!”
